Bye, America

I’m not going to lie–saying goodbye to my mom at the airport was rough.

Love you, Lisa!

But now I’m settled on a plane, waiting for takeoff, with only 10 hours and 4,763 miles in between myself and Japan.

I wonder how much things will change over these next three months, for life’s already changed over 24 hours. Yesterday I was still waiting. Today I am Tokyo bound.

  1. Oh my goodness Denae! I am so excited for you! I know that you will live this adventure to its fullest, and I am so excited to follow along as you do!

Since you are going to Tokyo, I can’t help but throw in one recommendation.. If you get the chance, you MUST eat at a “yakiniku” restaurant! You order different types of meat, and then you cook it yourself at your table and it is so very delicious! Definitely one of the things that I greatly miss from Japan. (Oh, and if you are feeling extra adventurous, you should try beef tongue while your there. Haha! I never had the guts to try, but Chris ordered it a few times and enjoyed it.) Anyways, enjoy Japan! And good luck getting around on the trains! I’m sure you will be fine, but it can seem a bit intimidating.

Love you, girl! Enjoy your first leg of the journey!! 🙂

    1. Oh yes, Abi, thank you for the advice and the love! I will look into that restaurant–it sounds so yummy! Sending lots of love to Texas!
